For the last few months at Plexi-Craft, All of our thoughts had been geared towards the Design Awards for New York Cottages and Gardens. We knew we needed a fusion of sleek yet timelessly elegant design style. The result is something we’re really proud of: The Soho Chair, a fresh take on the classic dining room or occasional chair. The chair was a finalist for Best Design at the IDA award ceremony that took place in the Rainbow Room in September.
The question we’re always asked when we tell people that our products are handcrafted is a resounding “but how do they DO it?”
For this chair, the ½” thick acrylic back was precisely cut and diced to form a simple, but elegant, vertical pattern. The piece was then sanded and polished to perfection. Plexi-Craft’s expert team of artisans took over and bent the back slowly and meticulously to fit precisely around the rear base of the chair using nothing but a heater and their experienced eye. The result is a stunning silhouette, supporting a gorgeous pink velvet upholstered seat.
In Case you’re wondering, as with all our products, the seat cushion can be of various thickness and upholstered material. This luxurious chair is sure to add sophistication and function to your living space.
