Plexi-Craft’s acrylic etageres are masterpieces in their own right, but what makes them a such a good fit is that they are perfectly transparent, so each of her shoe’s colorful beauty shines through with clarity. The acrylic displays, and stunning shoes, are a gorgeous complement.
How did it all begin?
The SJP Collection called in the Fall of 2016 asking Plexi-Craft to handcraft two custom acrylic shoe etagere’s for Sarah Jessica Parker’s first SJP Collection store, to be opened in the MGM National Harbor Casino near Washington, DC, before year end. We were thrilled. The pieces needed to be of the highest quality like her high heel shoes and be ready in two months. Our dedicated team hand-crafted each etagere to stand nine feet tall and used only the clearest and most luxurious 1 ¼ inch thick acrylic available in the USA. Each piece, made by hand, weighed 1,200 pounds. We met the deadline and she was very excited.
A few months later, Plexi-Craft hand-crafted another four shoe etageres totaling over 3,000 pounds and delivered them to her second store opened in the MGM Bellagio in Las Vegas! They were delivered ahead of schedule and the store opened just last week. In addition, we custom-made a number of acrylic tables, chairs and shoe risers.
And where else would SJP want her acrylic furnishings to be made but in Carrie Bradshaw’s, and Sarah Jessica Parker’s, home town of New York City of course – where Plexi-Craft has been manufacturing its acrylic furnishings for over a half century.
